Kananga

Born Stephon Goss and raised between Manchester and St. Mary, Jamaica, Kananga emerged from the hardcore dancehall era influenced by Cutty Ranks and Shabba Ranks.

At 19, he released his first single, “Crazy Love,” on Natural Mystic, marking his official entry into the industry. He later sharpened his craft with the Shocking Vibes crew alongside Silver Cat and Beenie Man, before recording with Free Willy Records, where he delivered underground tracks like “Suffer Through The Years,” “Red Hot,” and “Stay Alive.”

Over the years, Kananga has collaborated with Beenie Man, Lucan I, and Zahire, while building momentum across Jamaica, Europe, North America, and the Caribbean.

Since 2017, he has worked closely with Nuh Rush Records, releasing songs including “Trelawny,” “Mama Africa,” “Clean Ras,” “Island Breeze,” “Country on Fire,” “Let’s Talk It Over,” and “Stronger” from the Redemption Project (2021).

With new music in rotation and an anticipated album on the way, Kananga continues to bring authentic dancehall energy, sharp phrasing, and a seasoned Jamaican voice to today’s reggae scene.
